Distance Education Programs for working professionals have been really popular among working professionals especially among young professionals. There are many professionals who have to drop out just after college or just because they wanted to earn early. But later they realize that graduation is just not enough in today’s world.

    Distance education programs are targeted towards working professionals and many working professionals are taking up these courses especially MBA. There are many varieties of these distance education courses;
    1. Correspondence courses
    2. Part time courses
    3. Executive courses
    4. Online courses

Conventional correspondence courses are quite old now and online courses are quite new. They are getting good attention from the working class. Due to advancement in technology, they are convenient for lot of professionals. Working professionals who have access to internet and a laptop, it is extremely good for them.

In last few years, lots of good reputed colleges have also started offering executive distance education program. These courses are extremely helpful for the professionals who want to take their skills and knowledge to the next level. There is a very common question among working professional about which one is better a regular mba or distance education program mba?

Regular mba is always better than a distance education program but it depends about the fact if you can afford to go back to the college. Distance education programs cannot replace the regular mba courses. In regular mba, you get a lot of time to spend with the faculty, you interact with your batch mates and that adds a lot of value to you.

In distance education programs, you don’t get it but still you cannot rule out the importance of distance courses. Something is better than nothing, if you cannot go for a regular mba, then there is no harm in going for a distance education program mba. Choose the college carefully, select the course carefully.

Distance education raised their importance if the guys posses relevant experience of niche industries. No. of institute, college and universities are offering distance learning education and every institute and colleges are dame on dozen by himself. Its hard to choose which one is better for what courses you wanted to pursue. As long as my experience goes inside this, i know a good choice for finance education or mba in finance is international college of financial planning,(icofp.org)

Today, there are many private and public, non-profit and for-profit institutions worldwide offering distance education courses from the most basic instruction through to the highest levels of degree and doctoral programs. Distance learning is very beneficial for candidates who wish to pursue their higher studies, but do not have the time to do so. These courses can be taken up by people who stay at remote places, employees, housewives etc. Distance learning through the university programs does require a lot of work. You need to complete assignments, attend exams and work on projects just like regular college. Therefore, you might have to dedicate yourself for your studies.

The modern-day industrial scenario emphasizes the need of additional skills through a professional qualification. The diverse nature of businesses, which perform in a global platform, spurns the need for multi-dimensional managerial skills for sustained productivity. Globalization has created smaller, specialized business units with each of them requiring full-fledged functionality, to ultimately deliver to the consumer.

The current scenario and the need for distance MBA

The modern-day industrial scenario emphasizes the need of additional skills through a professional qualification.

The diverse nature of businesses, which perform in a global platform, spurns the need for multi-dimensional managerial skills for sustained productivity.

Globalization has created smaller, specialized business units with each of them requiring full-fledged functionality, to ultimately deliver to the consumer.

In this global set-up, the consumer awareness has grown manifold, making management accountable for quality delivery and ultimately, customer satisfaction.

Add to that as competition rages in the industry, each business demands a higher degree of competence.

With the result, each professional be it experienced or fresher, needs to innovate and deliver at every level of the “job-process”.

    The specialties of distance MBA

MBA as a specialization course delves into the various concepts of business management as applicable to the modern day scenario.

The insights gained from an MBA help to discern the business, the market and the target consumer. Distance MBA programs cater to the industry demand and, the aspirations of students countrywide, to pursue a professional degree.

Add to that, the technology-medium has built an effective interface to deploy the resources of distance learning programs.

The innovative pedagogy, and industry-relevant curriculum of distance learning universities, has made distance MBA on par with the regular stream of learning.

Industry majors acknowledge the credibility of distance learning courses such as MBA and rate them equally employable.

Affordable, flexible and convenient, compared to their campus programs, distance MBA gives the job industry skilled workforce and students, the required employability.

It's a good post for any fresher who want to enroll for the described program like MBA. I appreciate it. In my view too regular course still lead the way of learning or education. It has more opportunities to explore the new experience with respect to correspondence way of study. More hand-on experiences, face to face interaction with your tutor, live practical way of learning and such alike qualities makes it more important way of learning. Although with a huge technical advancement in now-a-days some demerits of correspondence way of learning has been eliminated but it's still requires some fundamental infrastructure to avail the benefit of such technical advancement which are not available to far-flung areas specially in most of backward rural areas.

As far I think, MBA, MCA or other such alike technical or professional course should must delivered under regular course at least for any fresher or new comer which has no such experiences in that related sections so that no fake institute can misguide those fresh mind. Such courses demands a huge hand-on experiences to make the student reliable to face similar situations effectively. Some authorized or unauthorized institute misguide ad sell degree in such technical or professional degree to the freshers without taking into concern of practical knowledge. In future these students failed to deliver what is expected from them based on their degree or certificates. So concerned bodies should pay an attention towards this issues.

But as you have written that no one can deny the fact in spite of some flaws in correspondence way of learning, it is still essential together with regular courses to make more people educated and spread the knowledge.
