XAT is the second most popular management entrance exam in India after CAT. XAT is different in many ways from other exams like CAT, MAT & CMAT. XAT is conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur and XAT score is accepted by 120 B schools across India including XLRI and its associate members.

XAT is considered a high difficulty level exam in comparison to CAT and other exams. However, there are some other parameters which make XAT a unique exam.

XAT is an entrance exam specific to Xavier’s. CAT is a common admission test that a candidate needs to appear if he wishes to take admission in any MBA college. Many prominent colleges like the ITM also have PGDM programs for which the eligibility and admission process could vary.
  4. Both the exams are peculiar in their own terms. Even the preparation requires a different strategy and time management. If you are serious for XAT, then you must give equal importance to this exam as you give to CAT. More or less, XAT is 60% similar to CAT.The difficulty of both the exam is high. The XAT is difficult due to its Decision Making and Quantitative Aptitude. The paper requires good reasoning skills. Whereas, CAT is difficult due to its Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning Section. This appears to be a most challenging section of the exam.
